A long held tradition in the south, especially Florida, is gator hunting.
Regulations require a tag, you can’t bait and come back for them, and no guns are allowed on your boat. You must spot it. Then usually you shoot it with a cross bow, and once you get it up close, you kill it with a knife or a bang stick.
The hides and meat are the prize. Nothing better than gator bites, except maybe the backstrap or the tail.
